If you have read my recent blogs, you will notice that this is not my first time trying out a new workout program (Work It Out and The Challenge). It is embarrassing to admit that often times I fail at workout programs and that is probably why I am already into my new program 5 weeks before blogging about it. This is probably the longest I have made it consistently through a program and here are a few reasons why I have been able to be successful:
- The program is designed for beginner runners.
- I have support and accountability from friends, family, and even with my Pastor who checks in with me each Sunday.
- I am running with friends instead of running alone.
- I created a reachable goal to be met in a specific time frame.
- I have this incredible feeling of accomplishment every time I finish a week or even a day.
These are some great outcomes of the program:
- I get to spend time with friends while working out.
- I now have more energy throughout the day.
- I am now motivated to accomplish other things in my life.
- Running is a way to take care of my body.
- Running inspires me to have healthier eating habits.
- I am actually enjoying running.
- I have found a new confidence in who I am and what I can do.
commitment....it's the hardest thing to commit to! Wow...that's profound. I wonder if I heard that somewhere or just made it up? accountability....it's the hardest thing to stay accountable to! I could go on like this forever! You girls need a name like the Patterson Pavement Pounders...or something like that...
ReplyDeleteI think you are amazing! Go on with your bad selfs! I can't imagine enjoying running...
ReplyDeleteHahhaa! Your mom is so funny! I think it's so great that you've stuck with it and had such awesome results from it. It's so cool that Pastor Kent is checking up on you girls! :o)
