Sara's 26th Birthday

Is it just me, or is it the older you get, birthdays don't seem to be as big of a deal? I used to really look forward to birthdays and the social aspect of them, but this year I really wanted a relaxed birthday spent with my family. The birthday festivities began a few weeks ago when Eric's parents took us out to dinner at B.J.'s Brewery. My father-in-law was so excited to give me tickets to "Moving Out," which was a dance perforance at the Gallo Arts Center. Eric and I had a fun time getting dressed up for the event.

The night before my birthday, my parents took us out to Johnny Carino's Restaurant for dinner. Eric and I really enjoy spending one-on-one time with both of our parents.
On my actual birthday Eric took me to Long Barn to go ice skating, which is something I rarely get to do, but love. Eric usually doesn't like ice skating, but being the wonderful husband that he is, he kept me company during the skate. After ice skating, we headed up to Pinecrest lake to check out the snow. It was weird seeing the lake so low and as you can see from one of the pictures below, we were able to walk out past where the buoys usually float in the water. After playing in the snow, Eric and I went and ate at Pie in the Sky in Mi-Wuk Village, which is one of my favorite pizza places. After gettting back into town, we went to my sister-in-law, Amy's house for dinner and cake with the family.

Finally, the day after my birthday, Eric and I went to a Sacramento Kings game and they won in overtime!

  1. What a fun birthday! And you're right--birthdays do seem to become less of a big deal. I'm so excited that you're blogging and I'll be an avid reader!
PS Jeff and I went to Pie in the Sky on our honeymoon!
